Wishes Exhibition
This exhibition stemmed from a collaborative project 'The Machine for Generating Happiness' which fellow artist Lizzy Alageswaran and I undertook from Spring to Autumn 2014 . The original project involved a number of installations and workshops to get input from the community on their thoughts of happiness and wishes for the future which accumulated in to the final 'Wishes' exhibition.
For the exhibition I created a 3 level playable platform computer game where the main character collected items (such as rabbits, sunshine and tea) the community had named reasons to be happy. To accompany the computer game I displayed wall hung work displaying the pixel art I had created for the game.
For the exhibition I also developed a 15minute soundscape using sounds from public domain sources to create a soundtrack to happiness. This soundscape included clips of noises that the community had highlighted as happy sounds such as bird song, laughter and music. The soundscape played throughout the gallery for the whole exhibition and was the first soundscape ever to be exhibited in the Riverside Library Gallery.
This Gallery contains images from the exhibition.
